Dr. Kristiansen Witnessed How Chiropractic Care Helped His Parents
I remember even as a child I was impressed with chiropractic. I would watch my father drag his leg around because of sciatica and then he would go to our family Chiropractor and when he came home he wasn’t dragging his leg. I would also watch my mother suffer from severe and debilitating headaches. As soon as she came home from theChiropractor she was my wonderful mom again.
After watching my parents and their experiences with chiropractic I decided that when I was looking for a career I should check it out. And when I did…..WOW!! It made so much sense to me and really lit a fire under me to learn how to help people with their health challenges, naturally. I learned that the body is controlled by an Innate Intelligence. That the body heals itself as long as there is no interference in the nervous system to block the Innate Intelligence from doing its job.
So, in 1969 I began my journey to become a Chiropractor. This led me to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. This is where chiropractic originated in 1895 when D.D.Palmer adjusted the spine of a deaf janitor, by the name of Harvey Lillard. This restored his hearing and thus chiropractic was born. I found the educational experience both challenging and rewarding. I had to work very hard to learn about the human body and its control system: the Brain and Spinal Cord and how nothing happens in the body unless the brain tells it to. What was especially surprising to me was how fast the body would heal itself once the interference to the nerve system was removed and communication with the brain was re-established. Now I knew why my parents always looked, felt and acted more like themselves after a visit to the family Chiropractor.
All my life, even as a child, I have wanted to help people. This is why I became a Chiropractor all those years ago. Over the years, I strive to continue to learn new methods of helping people so I could fulfill my personal mission of making a difference in the quality of the lives in the community. My personal philosophy has always been to do the highest quality work, educate my patients in their problems and give them options on how to handle their health challenges.
My Family and Chiropractic Care
I met my wife while I was attending Palmer College in Davenport. She worked at an ice cream store right across the street from the gas station I worked at. We were married in 1975 and had three children (2 boys and 1 girl) from which we now have 3 grandchildren. My wife will tell you that I have 2 main hobbies: More education in the natural healthcare field and golf. If you were to ask me my hobbies I would have to say attending to patients and golf. Some call me a work-a-holic, but I don’t view being at the office work…..that’s what I do for play. I have always enjoyed helping people.
As a result of my philosophy of life I receive chiropractic care at least once per month to be sure my nerve channels are open and my innate intelligence continues to run my body the way it was designed. My wife and I raise our children with this philosophy and now my grandchildren are also benefiting from this care. My children never missed a day of school or now work due to illness. They never have had any illnesses what-so-ever, not even a cold or flu. They also learned with Dad around that a headache or upset stomach was no reason to skip school….so they stopped using that excuse to avoid school because their homework wasn’t done.
That’s enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care or nutrition response testing? Give Dr. Bradley Kristiansen Chiropractic a call so we can help you take your first steps toward better health, naturally.
